Employees provided a description of the female suspect and informed the officers that she had been in the store for two hours before leaving with two bags of merchandise valued at $222.00. Officers were able to locate the woman inside the McDonald’s restaurant, where the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to CVS. The suspect, a resident of Pledget Street in Salem, NJ, was charged accordingly. A court date is pending.
On 3/20, officers were dispatched to Aldi in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that a male had entered the store, concealed several packages of meat, and left without paying. The investigation is ongoing, and once the male is identified, he will be charged accordingly.
On 3/21, a resident of Woodlake Apartments reported that his bicycle was stolen. He had locked it to the provided bike rack, but when he returned, he found the lock cut and the bike missing. The resident provided a photo of the stolen bicycle, which is a yellow Thruster 26-inch BMX style bike. The incident is currently under investigation.
On 3/21, a resident of High Street was observed dragging a bag of stolen copper on North Broad Street, near the demolition site of the Inspira hospital. Officers conducted a pedestrian stop, during which the stolen copper was returned to the site, and the individual was placed under arrest. Before being transported to Salem County Jail, the suspect was charged with criminal trespass, theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, obstruction, and receiving stolen property. A court date is pending.
On 3/22, a resident of North Broad Street was charged with disorderly conduct, breach of peace, and obstructing public streets after causing a disturbance in front of an Aberdeen Place residence. A court date is pending.

On 3/23, a resident of Woodbury was charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, failure to deliver controlled dangerous substances to police, obstruction of justice, and hindering apprehension. A court date is pending.
On 3/24, officers were dispatched to Monroe Muffler for a theft report. Employees reported that someone had damaged their air conditioner overnight and had removed the copper. Officers collected a bag and several tools that were left behind. This incident remains under investigation, and once the suspect is identified, they will be charged accordingly.
On 3/24, during a traffic stop for using a cell phone, the driver provided a false name. After positively identifying her, it was discovered that she had a warrant for her arrest and was driving with a suspended license. The issuing jurisdiction granted a release on recognizance (ROR) and set a new court date. The driver received summonses for hindering apprehension, using a cell phone while driving, driving without a license, failure to maintain lamps, failure to present a driver’s license, and being a fugitive from justice. Additionally, a summons was issued to the vehicle owner for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate the vehicle. A court date is pending.
