Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of May 4 to May 8.
“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”
Audubon
PSE&G will be working on East Atlantic Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a partial road eastbound between West Merchant Street & Dowling Avenue, and a partial road closure eastbound between Chestnut Street & West Vassar Road.
Brooklawn
PSE&G will be working on Kings Highway on Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a full road closure on Kings Highway between Madison Avenue & Jefferson Avenue.
Camden
- Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a shoulder closure between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard & Cooper Plaza.
- American Water will be working on Kaighn Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a lane shift between Clover Street & South 8th Street.
- Crews will be working on River Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a partial road closure southbound between Federal Street & East State Street.
- Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday). There will be a full road closure between Newton Avenue & Walnut Avenue, and a full road closure between Chestnut Street & Mt. Vernon Street.
- New Jersey American Water will be working on Marlton Pike & Federal Street on Wednesday, May 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be a shoulder closure on Marlton Pike between Baird Boulevard & Thorndyke Street, followed by a lane shift on Federal Street at the intersection with 16th Street.
- PSE&G will be conducting work on Federal Street on Wednesday, May 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a lane shift between North 33rd Street & North 34th Street.
- Crews will be working on Ferry Avenue between Carl Miller Boulevard & Salem Street, Newton Avenue between Kaighn Avenue & Chestnut Street, and Broadway between Chestnut Street & Winslow Street, from Thursday, May 7, to Sunday, May 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will involve shoulder closures and moving operations.
Cherry Hill
· Crews will be working on Kresson Road from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be a partial road closure westbound between Springdale Road & Cropwell Road.
· American Water will be working on Kresson Road from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. There will be a full road closure between Springdale Road & Browning Lane.
Collingswood
Crews will be working on Park Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a full road closure and sidewalk closures between Dill Avenue & Ogden Avenue.
Gibbsboro
Crews will be working on Hilliards Road from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Kirkwood-Gibbsboro Road & Norcross Road.
Gloucester City
PSE&G will be working on Market Street from Wednesday, May 6, to Thursday, May 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Spruce Avenue & Sartori Avenue.
Gloucester Township
Crews will be working on Evesham Road from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a partial road closure eastbound between West Clements Bridge Road (Route 41) in Runnemede & Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township.
Haddonfield
PSE&G will be working on Kings Highway West on Thursday, May 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a partial road closure westbound between Avondale Avenue & Chews Landing Road.
Oaklyn
PSE&G will be working on Newton Avenue Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Manheim Avenue & the dead end near West Lakeview Avenue.
Pine Hill
Crews will be working on West Branch Avenue from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a partial road closure eastbound between Blackwood-Clementon Road & Erial Road.
Runnemede
Crews will be working on Evesham Road from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a partial road closure eastbound between West Clements Bridge Road (Route 41) in Runnemede and Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township.
Winslow Township
Crews will be working on Mays Landing Road from Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a partial road closure northbound between Old Albertson Road & the Atlantic County Line.
The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway, over 200 bridges and several dams. They are dedicated to making our area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the residents of Camden County.
