The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating an early-morning shooting that occurred inside a hotel room, which left one man injured and a woman in custody.
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a hotel located on the 200 block of South Christopher Columbus Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 25-year-old female in the lobby who identified herself as the shooter and surrendered her firearm to police. She was taken into custody at the scene.
Responding officers and medical personnel located the victim, a 25-year-old male, in a nearby stairway suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Medics transported the victim to Thomas Jefferson Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Preliminary evidence indicates a physical altercation took place inside a 9th-floor hotel room before the shooting. Investigators are looking into reports of domestic disputes between the individuals preceding the incident.
The female suspect was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation of injuries sustained during the altercation. The firearm involved was recovered by police.
The investigation is active and ongoing with the Central Detective Division.
