Virtua Health named a “Greatest Workplace”

Virtua Health has earned national recognition as an exceptional employer on two prominent “best workplaces” lists published by Newsweek. These honors highlight Virtua’s commitment to fostering a purpose-driven, inclusive, and supportive work environment for its more than 16,000 colleagues.

For the second consecutive year, Virtua is named on Newsweek’s list of America’s Greatest Workplaces in Health Care. In addition, Virtua has again made Newsweek’s Greatest Workplaces by State list, which includes all industries.

“These rankings are a tribute to our 16,000 amazing Virtua colleagues and the ‘Culture of WE’ that we’ve built together,” said Rhonda Jordan, Virtua’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “Newsweek’s lists confirm that our work environment truly supports having the best people in our state and industry. I couldn’t be prouder of our achievements together!”

The not-for-profit health system, southern New Jersey’s largest, operates five hospitals and more than 400 additional care locations.

The rankings, developed in partnership with Plant-A Insights Group, reflect an analysis of 10 key metrics of employee satisfaction based on more than 575,000 interviews and 7.6 million reviews. The list “highlights employers excelling in leadership, fair compensation, and work-life balance,” according to Newsweek.

“So much evolution is happening in today’s workplaces, driven by AI and other emerging technologies,” said Dennis W. Pullin, FACHE, president and CEO of Virtua Health. “Amid this profound change, we are proud to maintain an environment where our people know they are valued, supported, and connected to a purpose greater than themselves. These honors tell us that, as we continue to evolve, we are also preserving our humanity and our genuine care for our colleagues.”

Earlier this year, Newsweek also named Virtua among the Best Places to Work for Women. In August 2025, Forbes named Virtua Health among the best employers in New Jersey for the seventh consecutive year.
