Harry S. Brown, of Brooklawn, \”The Mayor of Horton Avenue\”

On January 13, 2009. Age 78. Of Brooklawn. Predeceased by his parents Isaac C. and Sarah F. Brown (nee Stanley). Devoted and loving husband of Helen Sarah Brown (nee Barr). Devoted father of Dr. Harry C. (Carolyn) Brown, Robert J. (Michele) Brown, Karen A. (Joseph) Clayton and Philip C. (Gabriella) Brown. Loving grandfather of Melissa, Kevin, Andrew, Harrison, Stephanie, Sarah and Philip. Predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Sturgeon and Shirley Fisher. Cousin of James Gallagher and many nieces and nephews.

Harry was voted \”handsomest\” of his Gloucester High School class of 1949. He worked 33 yrs as a Design/Construction Engineer for Campbell Soup in Camden, NJ. Prior to Campbell Soup, Harry worked for DiPaolo Clothing in Hammonton and Camden Shipyard. Harry enjoyed bowling, fixing things around the house and spending time with family, especially his \”Sweetie Pie\” Helen. Neighbors called Harry the \”Mayor of Horton Ave\”. Harry will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Monday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth St. Gloucester City. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
