Today is a day to do something patriotic. Today is a day that we will never forget. We have the opportunity to do something to show our patriotism and honor one of our country’s bravest souls.
Please come out and join us in welcoming home 1Lt. James A. Dougherty, III from serving in Taji, Iraq for 9 months. He is with the 56th Stryker Brigade of the PA National Guard. While in Iraq his duties included security for military convoys. He was also responsible for escorting wounded soldiers in medical convoys to the medical facilities when choppers couldn’t fly due to sandstorms. He was noted for leadership qualities shown while under insurgent grenade attacks on his convoy.
James graduated from Cherokee High School in 2003. He was a Cherokee Marching Band Alumni. His family is asking for assistance in sharing their joy of the return of their son.
The Evesham Fire-Rescue Dept., The Evesham Police Dept., the Yellow Ribbon Club, the Warriors Watch Riders and the Township of Evesham will be on hand to thank this young man and welcome him home.
