The annual Gloucester City Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held this Saturday, December 5.
This year the Gloucester City Celebrations Committee is working with the Lakes Association and the Gloucester City Volunteer Fire Department. Starting at approximately 5:30pm a small parade will travel thorough the City featuring Santa Clause on the back of a fire truck.
The parade will first stop at the municipal building Broadway and Monmouth Street, and the tree there will be lit.
Then, the parade will go down Monmouth Street to Johnson Blvd and out to the lake on Highland Blvd, where the second tree lighting will take place.
Pictures with Santa Claus will be available along with refreshments.
The Volunteer Fire Department will be taking Santa around the City on December 17, 18, 19 and 20, giving candy canes to all the children.
Any group that would like to volunteer to help Santa is asked to call 456-5342 for further information.
