U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Scranton Rape Suspect

Scranton, PA (MARCH 2, 2015) CNBNews–Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced the arrest of Demetrius Franklin, a 36-year old man on charges of rape and other related offenses.

On February 28, 2015, the Scranton Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Franklin with rape by force, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor. The Scranton Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend him. 

On March 2, 2015, members of the USMS Fugitive Task Force arrested Franklin who was found hiding in an attic of a residence located in the 1400 block of Capouse Ave in Scranton. He was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings in the case.

Obituar: Joseph H. Pfeiffer III of Glassboro formerly of Bellmawr

Joseph H. Pfeiffer, III, on March 2, 2105, of Glassboro, formerly of Bellmawr. Age 61. 

Beloved son of Loretta (nee Miller) and the late Joseph H., Jr. Devoted brother of Robert (Martha). Dear uncle of Robert, April, and Joy. Also survived by his loving companion, Trisha Dunn. 

There will be a viewing from 11am to 1pm Friday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, BELLMAWR. 

Funeral service 1pm at the funeral home. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.

Patricia Ann Vickery, of Gloucester City, age 82

 

Surrounded by her family, at home, on March 2, 2015. Age 82, of Gloucester City. (nee Malloy). Loving and devoted wife of 59 years to Harold J. Vickery. Loving and devoted mother of Patricia Ann Rudley (Richard), Bernadette Cresmer (Scott), Joan Maria O’Rourke (Timothy), Mary Ann Conaway (Timothy), Harold James Vickery (Judith) and the late William P. Vickery. Cherished grandmother of William, Erik, Brandon and Dana; great grandmother of Marley and Gavin. Dear sister of Margaret O’Connor and the late Delores Clinger. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

 

Pat was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed drives to the shore, traveling with her husband, reading and crossword puzzles.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 AM at McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Gloucester City. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

Christie Declares State of Emergency/CNBNews

Trenton, NJ March 4,2015–With a winter storm expected to impede transportation and travel throughout New Jersey, Governor Chris Christie today declared a State of Emergency, authorizing the State Director of Emergency Management to activate and coordinate the preparation, response and recovery efforts for the storm with all county and municipal emergency operations and governmental agencies. Commuters are asked to use extreme caution while traveling across the state.

\”Tonight\’s storm is expected to produce travel hazards and potentially cause power outages throughout the state,\” said Governor Christie. \”I\’ve authorized state officials to take all necessary action to prepare, and my Administration will continue monitoring conditions throughout the remainder of the storm. I encourage all New Jerseyans to drive carefully and remain off the roads if possible so that our first responders and public safety officials can safely respond to any emergency situations. \”

Tonight\’s storm is expected to continue through Thursday, bring heavy snow, mixed precipitation including ice, and freezing temperatures throughout the State.
