New Jersey Implements New CDL Medical Certification Process

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) today announced that the State of New Jersey has implemented the National Registry II (NRII). This enhancement allows for the electronic transfer of a medical examiner’s certification, required for commercial drivers, directly from medical providers to the NJMVC. It ensures a more efficient and seamless exchange of information for CDL holders.

Walter A. Kirk, Jr., 76, of Oaklyn

Walter A. Kirk, Jr., a longtime resident of Oaklyn, NJ passed away on February 9, 2026 at the age of 76.

Walt was the beloved son of the late Walter and Josephine Kirk.  He is the loving and devoted brother of Catherine (Lawrence) Kirk-Chase and Joanne (Rick) Wood.  Adored uncle to Jacob and Jemma Chase.

Walt was raised in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ.  He was the owner of Delaware Valley Appraisal Company of Audubon, NJ and was also a business partner in Homes by G & K.  More recently, Walt earned his Juris Prudence degree which was a lifelong dream of his.

Funeral service and interment will be planned at a later date.

The Liberty Bells are back! It’s time for our annual awards-season celebration highlighting all of the people, places and things that make Philly so very, well, Philly. 

Unlike those Hollywood awards shows, the Liberty Bells are 100% people-powered.

That’s where you come in.

We’re currently seeking nominations in five categories. You can learn more about each category below. 

You have until March 13 to get your nominations in. We’ll tally up the submissions, name finalists and open up the public voting phase from March 23 through April 3.

Winners of the 2026 Liberty Bells will be announced during Visit Philadelphia’s 30th Anniversary Gala on May 14.

Arrest Announced for Sexual Assault of a Minor

Middle Township, New Jersey– Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Tracey Super announce the arrest of Brian Leach, 53, of the 100 East block of Woodland Avenue, Cape May Court House, following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault.

On March 4, 2026, members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed multiple court-authorized search warrants at sober living residences operated under Leach’s Sobriety House, LLC, as well as Leach’s personal residence located in the 100 East block of Woodland Avenue in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township, New Jersey.
