Gloucester Township Police Arrest Juvenile Suspect in Three Vehicle Thefts 12-3-2025

On Tuesday, December 3, 2025 at approximately 8:25 pm, Officers were dispatched to the Revere Run neighborhood in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township for the report of a motor vehicle theft. Due to Officers conducting proactive, targeted enforcement operations in the immediate area based on a previous analysis of crime trends, they were able to flood the area of the theft almost immediately.

Through collaborative investigative efforts and enhanced patrols by Officers and Detectives, two other stolen vehicles were located in the area. One from a nearby neighborhood and one from Cherry Hill. Officers attempted to conduct a pedestrian stop of a possible suspect, however he fled on foot as offices gave chase. He was ultimately located and taken into custody. The male was in possession of items consistent with burglary and vehicle theft activity. The juvenile male was transported to Gloucester Township Police Headquarters, and was charged with three counts of Motor Vehicle Theft and other offenses after an investigation by Detectives. Three stolen vehicles were recovered and able to be returned to their owners.

Gloucester Township Police Department Participates in Statewide “Goal: Zero” Traffic Safety Initiative on Thanksgiving Eve  

The Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD) will participate in “Goal: Zero,” a statewide high-visibility traffic enforcement initiative focused on reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries across New Jersey. The coordinated Goal: Zero operation will take place on November 26, 2025, between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
 
Thanksgiving Eve, commonly known as “Blackout Wednesday” or “Drinksgiving,” marks the beginning of a seasonal increase in impaired driving. To address this trend, law enforcement agencies throughout the state will join together for synchronized Goal: Zero enforcement efforts, according to the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). Goal: Zero represents a growing statewide commitment to achieving Zero Deaths, Zero Injuries, and Zero Crashes on New Jersey’s roadways. The initiative targets dangerous driving behaviors such as speeding, impaired driving, and distracted driving through a combination of education, high-visibility patrols, and data-driven enforcement.

GTPD Is Hiring Special Law Enforcement Officers Class I!

APPLICATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED! Gloucester Township Police Is Hiring Special Law Enforcement Officers Class I! 

Special Police Officers assist with traffic control, court security, security details, park patrol, and transportation of prisoners. Special Police Officers work part time hours ranging up to 29 hours per week.

There is no test administered by the New Jersey Department of Personnel. Candidates are hired based on their completion of an application with the Township of Gloucester.

Autumn Ridge Apartments Fire With Several Injuries

This morning, at approximately 2:14 AM, Gloucester Township Police Officers were dispatched to 1501 Little Gloucester Road, the Autumn Ridge Apartment Complex, for a report of an apartment fire.

Upon arrival, heavy smoke was observed in the “C” Building. Officers and firefighters commenced evacuating the building. The building houses approximately forty apartments with over one hundred residents. All residents of the “C” Building have been displaced and are receiving assistance from OEM and The Red Cross.

Happening Tonight! Gloucester Township Police Department’s Change Of Command Ceremony

Please join the Gloucester Township Police Department for our Change Of Command Ceremony as we swear in Anthony Minosse as Chief Of Police, John Stollsteimer III as Deputy Chief Of Police, as well as two Captains, two Lieutenants, and two Sergeants.

The ceremony will held at Timber Creek Regional High School’s Auditorium, 501 Jarvis Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081 on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 7 PM. The public and news media are welcome to attend.

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025 a package theft victim’s door bell camera captured the pictured suspect proceed up a stairwell inside the Autumn Ridge Apartments in the Blackwood Section of Gloucester Township. The suspect quickly grabs the victim’s delivered package from their front door, then proceed back down the stairwell while opening the stolen package. During the month of October, three other incidents have been reported to Autumn Ridge Apartments Management and Gloucester Township Police by apartment residents.

Gloucester Township Police Captain Dan Long Retirement Ceremony and Last Radio Call 10-23-2025

Effective November 1, 2025, Captain Daniel Long will retire from the Gloucester Township Police Department after 26 years of honorable service!

Captain Long was hired as a Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer for the Gloucester Township Police Department in November 1999. Captain Long was hired as a full time Gloucester Township Police Officer on July 9, 2001. Captain Long served as a Patrol Officer, a Patrol Shift Investigator, a Traffic Safety Unit Officer, and a member of the Serious Crash Investigations Team and served on the Awards Committee.

On August 21, 2013 he was promoted to Sergeant of Police and was assigned as a Deputy Platoon Commander, an Operations Executive Officer, Deputy Commander of the Investigations Bureau, Special Investigations Unit. On September 1, 2022 he was promoted to Lieutenant of Police and was assigned as a Platoon Commander, and Juvenile Family Services Bureau Commander. On January 29, 2024, he was promoted to Captain of Police, where he served as the Operations Division Commander.

We are grateful for Captain Long’s dedicated service to the Gloucester Township Police Department and the community. We wish Captain Long a long and happy retirement!
