BELLMAWR NJ JULY 27, 2015 (CNBNewsnet)–The Bellmawr Volunteer Fire Department on Monday responded to one highway hazard, two MVA\’s and a reported Building Fire at Carmen\’s deli on Browning Road. No worries. The fire was minor and caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette which ignited some wood around one of the overhead doors. The fire was quickly extinguished with no damage to the deli section. Six calls today with a few hours to go members spent the evening cleaning the apparatus and installing new storage shelving in the firehouse. 

Busy first half of Monday. First a truck went off of Route 295 and struck the rear of T and T Flooring on Creek Road and from there responded to a vehicle fire in the alley way off of West Browning Road.

There’s no problem with the Internal Revenue Service’s audit selection process, insisted IRS Commissioner John Koskinen Thursday morning at a Congressional hearing in Washington, D.C.

Koskinen said concerns raised by Congress and the then-Inspector General two years ago about the IRS’ audit selection process have been addressed.

\”As part of their reviews, both the IRS’ chief risk officer and the [Government Accountability Office] offered recommendations for improvements in our internal control to further reduce any risks that exist for returns to be selected in an unfair manner,\” Koskinen said at Thursday’s hearing.

\”The IRS has accepted all of these recommendations, and we’ve been working to implement them.\”

On August 21, Union County Superior Court Judge James Hely is scheduled to hear argument in a case against the Summit Housing Authority for non-compliance with New Jersey\’s open public meetings law. The matter is currently set for 9 a.m. in Elizabeth.
 
The case, which alleges multiple violations of the state\’s Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) , was filed by the New Jersey Foundation for Open Government (NJFOG) earlier this year. It\’s the latest of several \”affirmative litigation\” lawsuits brought by the public advocacy group to draw attention to such violations and encourage greater voluntary compliance with the law by public agencies statewide. NJFOG previously won similar suits against the Boards of Education in Trenton and Island Heights.

She is survived by her father Wallace \”Wally\” Walters, family, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Walters and brother Robert Walters. Theresa was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a resident of Barrington. She attended Haddon Heights High school and graduated in 1984. She worked for the past several years at Bureau of Vital Statistics for the City of Philadelphia, PA as a clerk. Theresa had a passion for God, her family, friends, and nature.

Tamira Fonville’s job might be described as \”recruiter.\” For a time, she profited substantially by enlisting college-age women to participate in a hair show. The problem was, there never was any show, and everything about Fonville’s line of work was a fraud.

She and her partner—both of whom are now in prison—regularly traveled the Interstate 95 corridor from New York to Washington, D.C., visiting shopping malls and other places where young women were known to spend time.
