GLOUCESTER CITY-Did you notice all the construction work on South Broadway between Market and Monmouth Streets last week? If you rode by the area it was pretty hard to miss the workers cutting up the sidewalk and the backhoe loading buckets of dirt into trucks. Trying to get into the City Post Office was a nightmare since the area was roped off with traffic cones and construction tape. I couldn’t recall reading anything about plans for a major project this size anywhere. And so being a curious person I contacted Councilman Nick Marchese. 

Joseph G. McCann, Jr., 55, was charged after detectives from the High Tech Crimes (HTC) Unit of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant Wednesday evening at his Pine Hill home. There detectives discovered numerous images of child pornography located on a hard drive and seized several electronic devices. A forensic analysis conducted Thursday on one of the hard drives revealed images stored and made available to others on a shared peer-to-peer network.

 Woods was rendered totally disabled as a result of the vicious attack. A Gloucester City resident, he was the former owner of Day or Night Door Service.

Six weeks ago, at the May 28 proceedings, Sagot produced a videotape shortly before the case was to begin. The defense claimed the tape shows his client was in a different part of the city when the attack occurred. Judge Sean Kennedy who is presiding over the ligation granted Sagot’s request as it was a possible alibi for his client. The continuance also gave the prosecution the chance to review the new evidence. 

The Greek citizens have rolled the dice and voted overwhelmingly to reject the \”austerity\” referendum. This was a way for voters to stick a finger in the eye of their creditors. The left around the world has responded to the vote with thunderous applause—and is selling the results as a vote for \”the little guy.\”

The Greeks believed that voting against the debt restructuring plan would give them more leverage with the banks, the IMF and the EU. But what happens now in Greece? The banks are shutting down this week. Withdrawals from bank accounts are being tightly restricted.

Prior to retirement, Richard worked as a journalist, writer and editor for many large newspapers. In his early career, he worked in New York with Discount Store News & Restaurant News. Later in his career he moved from North Jersey down to Southern Jersey where he worked for the Courier Post, Retrospect, and most recently the Star Herald. He had a true love and passion of reading, his favorite authors included Hemmingway, Ludlum, and Stephen King.

Richard also loved to watch the BBC network and was a big fan of classic car shows. Richard always had a dunkin donut coffee in hand; his two favorite flavors were the pumpkin spice and hazelnut. He also was a true chef and especially enjoyed baking. But of all his hobbies and passions, his true love was being with family, whether it was family dinners or just being together, it was what made him smile and of course being surrounded by his precious grandchildren.
