CNB Crime: Your Help is Needed (Watch)

 

CAMDEN CITY NJ June 20, 2015–The Camden County Police Department is asking for help from the public to identify a suspect caught on video during a strong-arm robbery.

 

 

Officers responded to the Family Dollar store at 323 Marlton Pike on April 24 after a suspect put merchandise into his jacket without paying then shoved a store employee while exiting the store at approximately 8:39 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’8\”, wearing a blue and gold Notre Dame hooded jacket, a blue outer jacket, blue jeans, a black wave cap and white sneakers. The suspect can be seen in video posted on the Camden County Police Department Facebook page and at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csVLA3vFUnU&feature=youtu.be

Judge Increases Bail to $750K for Glassboro Resident Charged with Assault-Attempted Murder

WOODBURY NJ June 19, 2015–After hearing from an assistant Gloucester County prosecutor that a Glassboro woman may not survive the beating she suffered on 6/13/15, allegedly by her husband, a Superior Court judge today (6/19) raised bail for Byron Jenkins (DOB 7/30/69) from $500,000 to $750,000 on an aggravated assault and a subsequent attempted murder charge.

The victim is on life support, is in a coma and has had a portion of her skull removed, said Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Dana Anton.

CBP Arrests King of Prussia Man Wanted for Assault with Deadly Weapon | U.S. Customs and Border Protection

\"User33450-1420863618-media1_9e9069_240_179_PrsMe_\"PHILADELPHIA – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested a King of Prussia, Pa., man at Philadelphia International Airport Wednesday on an arrest warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

CBP officers arrested Richard Warrick, 40, after he arrived on a flight from Jamaica. Warrick was wanted in Philadelphia on the assault charge, and in Camden, N.J., for possession with intent to distribute marijuana/hashish.

CBP officers confirmed the warrants and turned Warrick over to Philadelphia Police officers.

LAUREL DELAWARE (June 19, 2015) – The tranquil waters of Riverfront Park in Laurel will be the setting Saturday, June 27 for the second-annual Eco Paddle canoe and kayak exploration and education float trip on the Nanticoke River. The outing – originally scheduled for Phillips Landing, also in Laurel – was relocated to Riverfront Park because of a venue date conflict. Eco Paddle is part of the Reclaim Our River – Nanticoke Series, a program sponsored by DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship and a host of environmental partners, which offers monthly events, workshops and recreational activities aimed at raising water quality awareness in the Nanticoke Watershed.

N.J. gas prices rise again,

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.62, up 2 cents from last week. But that\’s still much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.59.

7 N.J. prison escapees still being hunted

An Associated Press survey found that there are more than 220 state prison escapees at large nationwide, including the seven from New Jersey.

 It\’s been 20 years since New Jersey has seen an inmate escape a prison and remain free through today — Silva was the last one, having fled from the former Riverfront State Prison in Camden in 1995, according to the department\’s records.

Atlantic City School Principal Charged with Theft

ATLANTIC CITY (June 10, 2015) – An Atlantic City school principal was charged today with theft and official misconduct, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Concluding a year-long investigation, Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Official Corruption Unit served summons complaints this afternoon to Lakecia C. Hyman, 41, at her home on the 100 block of New Bridge Road, Egg Harbor Township, for the charges of:

 Official Misconduct—a crime of the 2nd degree, and
 Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property Received—a 3rd

degree crime.

The State alleges that, while serving in her capacity as Principal of the Uptown School Complex in Atlantic City, Hyman collected and retained over $10,000 in cash and checks intended for Uptown Complex fundraising accounts, and kept the money as her own.

Hyman was suspended from her employment with pay by the Atlantic County Board of Education in February 2014.

A 2nd degree crime carries a potential penalty of 5-10 years of incarceration in New Jersey State Prison; the potential penalty for a 3rd degree conviction is 3-5 years in prison.
