It would mean a ramen noodle diet and a threadbare closet from now to eternity for you and your family. So maybe you put up a picture and daydream a little and hope to win the lottery. But what you don’t do – if you’re responsible – is mortgage everything for that one thing.

That’s what you do if you’re not the Air Force, or the rest of the Pentagon for that matter.

TRENTON – Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman announced that three people were indicted today on first-degree charges of conspiracy and money laundering for allegedly stealing $700,000 from various banks through a counterfeit check scheme.The Division of Criminal Justice Corruption Bureau obtained a seven-count state grand jury indictment charging the following defendants with first-degree conspiracy, two counts of first-degree money laundering, second-degree theft by deception, and third-degree forgery:

State Troopers to Set Up Sobriety Checkpoint on Garden State Parkway

Bayshore Communities Recovery Committee Reviews 26-project Recovery Plan


On Tuesday, March 3, 2015 the Bayshore Communities Recovery Committee will present a full assessment of the ambitious, 26-project Recovery Plan introduced in the winter of 2014.

The event will be held at Cumberland County College in the Luciano Conference Center from 5:30-9:00 p.m. and will include presentations from the Bayshore Center at Bivalve, the American Littoral Society, the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, the International Economic Development Council and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Local, state and federal legislative leaders have also been invited to attend and outline the work they are doing on behalf of the Bayshore region.

Understanding Lent, With a Little Help from George

When I became a case manager with Catholic Charities’ regional office in Atlantic City 14 years ago, one of the first people to touch my life was George.

He’s at our office every few weeks. Usually he needs help filling out forms or understanding various social services. He’s 76 years old and can barely read. To be honest, he can be tiring at times.

Home Invasion Suspect Robert J. Bilhardt, 26 Charged with Attempted Murder of 92-Year-Old Man

ATLANTIC COUNTY February 24, 2015— An Egg Harbor Township man was indicted last week for attempted murder and 9 additional criminal counts, in connection with a home invasion robbery committed against a 92-year-old man EHT man in 2013, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, an Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Robert J. Bilhardt, 26, of the Tower East Mobile Home Park, Tremont Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, ten (10) criminal counts in connection with the December 2013 home invasion robbery of Charles Sweetman, then 92-years-old, a resident of the same community.

Johnny Gaudreau to Be Honored on March 2; Rams Alumni Invited to Special Ceremony!

GLOUCESTER CITY – Former Gloucester Catholic hockey star Johnny Gaudreau, now an all-star rookie with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, will have quite a homecoming when the Flames visit the Philadelphia Flyers in March — and GC alumni are invited to be part of a special event!

Gaudreau will have his Gloucester Catholic jersey retired in a ceremony in the GCHS gymnasium on Monday, March 2, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place as part of the Rams’ Winter Playoff Pep Rally. \”Johnny Hockey\” will visit his alma mater in person and will be joined by his family, including dad Guy Gaudreau, GC’s ice hockey coach, and his mom Jane Gaudreau.

Gloucester Catholic alumni are invited to attend the ceremony.

Johnny Gaudreau and his Calgary Flames will be visiting the Philadelphia Flyers in an NHL game on March 3.
