MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City man was indicted for murder today for the fatal shooting of a man found dead inside his Atlantic City home in 2011, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Mrs. Helen Gallagher, Longtime Runnemede Resident, Runnemede Senior Citizens Member, and Church of St. Maria Goretti Parishioner

At the age of 106, Mrs. Helen Gallagher passed peacefully on December 20, 2014 in Texas, near her close family. She was born on \"\"February 13, 1908 in Philadelphia, and lived in Runnemede, NJ for more than 80 years. 

After growing up in Philadelphia, Helen lived briefly in Blackwood, NJ, working in the Webber Hosiery Mill. Later, Helen met John E. Gallagher and they married in 1928. After a few years, they bought a home on 1st Avenue in Runnemede, and Mrs. Gallagher lived in this same home until 2013. In 1933, their son William J. Gallagher, was born at home.

 TRENTON – In yet another positive step for air quality in New Jersey, the Christie Administration today announced that the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has notified the state that New Jersey is in compliance with the new and more stringent federal health standard for fine particles, a type of air pollutant that can cause serious health problems, especially in vulnerable populations.

In a Dec. 18 letter to Governor Chris Christie, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy states that New Jersey meets the strengthened standard of 12 micrograms per cubic meter that went into effect Dec. 14. This builds on New Jersey success in 2013, when for the first time the state was designated by EPA as meeting the then-federal standard of 15 micrograms per cubic meter.

Loving companion of Karin Gulizio. Loving father of Elizabeth Hutchinson (Rocco), Kathryn Rimositis (John), Marc Gulizio and Victoria Caruso. Cherished grandfather of Jane Hutchinson, David Rimositis, Simon Cristinzio and Gemma Cristinzio. Dear brother of Maryanne Stewart (Tom), Barbara Kell (Bob) and Eileen Harris (Steven). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Marty was a graduate of Gloucester City High School class of 1972 and Rutgers Camden class of 1977. He was a senior security officer at Holt Gloucester City Terminal and worked there since 1996.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday morning from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Catholic funeral service 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
