FACEBOOK Marcell Salters apologized for a controversial Instagram post of two black men pointing guns at a white police officer.

\”We celebrate the exercise of our First Amendment right to expression,\” Mayor Michael Nutter told Philly.com, \”but there are clear limits, and this posting went far beyond standards of decency. Inflammatory speech or behavior like this is simply irresponsible and could potentially incite others to inappropriate actions.\”

A contrite Salters said the post was inspired to a large degree by the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases. \”In regards to my previous post (the police picture).. I would like to deeply apologize to anyone I have offended,\” he wrote on Facebook.  (continue to read)

Gloucester City Mayor and Council passed a resolution last night naming
Jack Lipsett as the new administrator for the City. Lipsett will receive an annual salary of $95,000. He is presently the administrator of Washington Township in Gloucester County. Lipsett will begin his job with the City on January 5, 2009.

He replaces Paul Kain, who was being paid the same salary for that position along with holding down the job of municipal clerk. Kain, who has tenure as the municipal clerk, will continue in that position at an annual salary of $65,000.

Mayor Bill James said he will release further information on the appointment later today.

According to information found on the Internet, Lipsett has held the position of Washington Township Business Administrator since 2007. Prior to then he worked for Woolwich Township, where he held the position of Township Administrator since 2006. 

Before Woolwich Township, Lipsett was the Township Clerk/Administrator for Southampton Township in Burlington County (June 2000- Sept. 2006). Lipsett has also previously held the position of Business Administrator in Mt. Holly (Aug. 1999- June 2000). 

Lipsett holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Widener University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University. He makes his home in Cherry Hill with his wife and two daughters.

TRENTON, N.J. – Two members of a large-scale drug trafficking organization have admitted conspiring to distribute hundreds of grams of heroin throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced. 

Valerie Resendes, 27, of Beachwood, New Jersey, and Rashawn Ramos, 37, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, both pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan in Trenton federal court. Resendes pleaded guilty today to an information charging her with one count of conspiring to distribute heroin. On Dec. 16, 2014, Ramos pleaded guilty to an information charging him with one count of conspiring to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin and 500 grams or more of cocaine.
