So many mistakes; no wonder taxes have increased year after year after year

Watching the Channel 19 broadcast of the March Gloucester City council meeting I am amazed how the \”Lame-Duck\” incumbents (Loebell, Kaye, and Kormann) tried to defend their practice of giving some city employees longevity pay increases and vacation bonuses.

DOVER (Dec. 21, 2014) – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Natural Resources Police officers between Dec. 8-14 made 1,125 contacts with anglers, hunters, boaters and the general public, including 74 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks. Agents responded to 38 complaints and issued 35 citations, two of which were related to the C&D Canal Conservation Area and associated recreational trail, where there is an increased Fish & Wildlife Enforcement presence.

An incident of particular note was:

WASHINGTON—The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that a former Rite Aid Corporation Vice President and a New Jersey businessman have been charged in connection with a $14.6 million, surplus inventory sales/kickback scheme.

According to United States Attorney Peter Smith, Jay Findling, age 54, of Manalapan, New Jersey, is charged in a Criminal Information filed today in the United States District Court in Harrisburg with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Former Rite Aid Vice President Timothy P. Foster, 65, of Portland, Oregon, is charged in the same criminal information with making false statements to authorities.

Sine Die. That’s the Latin phrase for spells the end of the 113^thCongress. Phew. While we have a couple weeks before the 114^th is sworn in it is worth reviewing what this Congress accomplished … and didn’t.

The most frequent descriptors you hear about this Congress are dysfunctional and do-nothing. Well, they did do something, but they also left a lot to be taken up by the 114^th.

By the numbers, 351 pieces of legislation (bills, resolutions, joint resolutions) were passed by

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Lindenwold Police Chief Thomas Brennan are seeking information on an overnight shooting in Lindenwold.

Police were called shortly before 12:20 a.m. Saturday to Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford for a gunshot victim who arrived in a private vehicle.

In response to 11 cases of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning which sent four New Jersey families to hospital emergency departments in November and December, New Jersey Commissioner of Health Mary O\’Dowd is reminding residents to reduce their risk of carbon monoxide exposure.

\”As the cold weather of winter approaches, it is important for families to take precautionary measures to prevent CO poisoning,\” said Commissioner O\’Dowd. \”There are three steps every family should take: 1) have your oil or gas furnace inspected every year; 2) use battery-operated CO detectors near every sleeping area in your home, and check them regularly to make sure they are working; and 3) never use a generator inside your home or garage.\”

DOVER (Dec. 20, 2014) – DNREC reminds Delawareans that holiday time is the right time to trim your \”wasteline\” while helping the environment – by recycling all those extra mail order boxes, gift-wrapped packages, tags and cards. It’s easier than ever to recycle these holiday items and more through Delaware’s Universal Recycling program, and keeping them out of the state’s landfills is a holiday gift to the earth.

WOODBURY NJ (December 19, 2014)Donald D. Segar (DOB 4/22/92), of Newtonville NJ was sentenced today to eight years in New Jersey state prison following his conviction on assault and weapons charges resulting from a February 17, 2013 confrontation with his girlfriend in her Woodbury NJ apartment in which witnesses told police she was choked and he fired shots into the unit’s ceiling in the presence of the girlfriend’s year-old daughter.

Segar was convicted in a jury trial on 10/2/13 of aggravated assault with a firearm, threat to kill, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and certain persons not to have weapons because of a prior criminal conviction.
