Philadelphia School of Circus Arts to Debut 10 Day World Circus Festival

Step right up and head to Pennsylvania’s ‘big top!’ Aerialists, jugglers, acrobats and all things circus are taking over Philadelphia’s Circus Campus as Philadelphia School of Circus Arts celebrates World Circus Week and 52 Weeks of Firsts (America’s First Circus Performance) from April 10 to April 19, 2026. Come ready for thrilling performances, hands-on workshops and family-friendly events. Festivities kick off on opening night Friday, April 10th with Test Flights, an evening of contemporary circus works-in-progress by professional and student artists.

On Saturday, April 11th, look for a complimentary celebration in partnership with the Philadelphia Historic District 250th Committee, as part of the city’s yearlong 52 Weeks of Firsts celebration honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary. Look for performances and workshops, including Intro to Hula Hoop, Youth Trampoline and Intro to Family Circus. Ticketed workshops that day include Twisty Climbs on Silks, Aerial Dance for Non-Dancers and Aerial Playground for Adults.

All NJMVC Facilities to Close for the State Holiday on Friday, April 3rd

All New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) facilities, including agencies, road test sites, and inspection stations, will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of the state holiday.

Regular operations will be in effect at NJMVC facilities the rest of the week, including on Saturday, April 4.

The Commission’s website at NJMVC.gov remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Deptford Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Bicyclist

Iqrar Ahmad, 18, of Deptford, has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash after allegedly striking a bicyclist Monday night on Delsea Drive, Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns announced.

According to documents filed in this case:

Deptford Township Police responded shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a crash involving a bicyclist. The caller reported striking the bicyclist with their vehicle, causing the bicyclist to fall into the roadway, where they were then struck by a second vehicle. The second vehicle continued north on Delsea Drive. A witness reported the vehicle briefly stopped in the roadway before leaving the area.

Matthew Craig DeGailler, 40

Matthew Craig DeGailler, known lovingly to all as Matt, was born on December 20, 1986, in Lady of Lords, and he passed from this world on March 30, 2026, in Camden, New Jersey, leaving behind a life marked by devotion, service, and a heart that gave freely to all who knew him.

Matt was a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, a nephew, and a friend whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to those around him. He was the beloved son of Louis Craig DeGailler and his stepmother, Kimberly DeGailler, and he was also cherished by his stepfather, Joseph Marino. He was preceded in death by his late mother, Kristine DeGailler, and his late grandfather, Tom Kennedy, whose memories remained ever dear within the family. He is survived by his uncle, Tom Kennedy, his living grandparents, Marge Kennedy, Louis DeGailler, and Joann DeGailler, his brothers, Craig DeGailler and his wife Jen Myers, Jason Houser and his wife Courtney, and Sean Houser, and his sister, Heather Menardi and her husband Den. Matt held his niece and nephew, Savannah and Zachary, in the deepest affection, and he loved them with all his heart.

FSIS Issues Public Health Alert For Frozen, Dinosaur-Shaped, Ready-To-Eat Chicken Nuggets Due To Traces Of Lead

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for frozen, dinosaur-shaped, ready-to-eat chicken nuggets that may be contaminated with unsafe levels of lead. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. However, FSIS is concerned that some product may still be in consumers’ freezers.

Beginning at 11 p.m. tonight, Thursday, April 2 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 3, the I-676 southbound Exit 1B to Collings Avenue/Collingswood and the Collings Road ramp to I-676 southbound are scheduled to be closed. The closures are necessary for saw cutting in preparation for upcoming drainage work. The following detour will be in place:

I-676 southbound Exit 1B to Collings Avenue/Collingswood Detour:

Motorists on I-676 southbound wishing to take Exit 1B will be directed to continue on I-676 southbound
Take Exit 1A to Route 130 North/Route 168 South/Camden/Trenton
Stay left to take the ramp to I-676 North/Camden/Gloucester
Stay right to take Exit 1 to Collings Avenue/Collingswood/Gloucester, back to Collings Road

E-Scooters and E-Bikes Turn Public Spaces into Hazard Zones

Electric scooters and electric bikes have flooded into Gloucester City and surrounding towns, and the results are becoming harder to ignore. What began as a convenient way to get around has quickly turned into a safety problem for anyone who uses our sidewalks, jogging paths, or neighborhood streets responsibly.

The danger isn’t theoretical. On my daily walks with Sweetie, I’ve had kids on these motorized bikes come up behind us without a sound. These machines make no noise, so you can’t hear them approaching until they’re already on top of you. More than once, a rider has blown past us at high speed, leaving no time to react. In one instance, a teenager on an e‑bike came straight at the dog and me, expecting us to move aside. I was forced to step off the path or be hit. That’s not “sharing the road”—that’s intimidation.

Turkey Hunting Season to Offer an Extra Day

Delaware’s upcoming spring turkey hunting season will run from April 10 through May 11 this year, with a special two-day youth and non-ambulatory hunt Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 starting the season, DNREC announced. Hunters who have a permit for Segment D will get an additional day (Sunday, May 11) to hunt this season following a recent regulatory change to turkey season dates.
