Matranga was named the head coach of the Gloucester Catholic High School softball team recently, replacing Julie McHenry. Matranga is a graduate of the high school and his daughter, junior-to-be Christina, is the Rams\’ starting second baseman.
Matranga coached ASA from 10-and-unders to 14-and-unders from 2001 to 2006, leading the South Jersey Hornets to a national title in 2002. During his tenure, he built a softball field in his backyard so the team could easily practice.
