The newly constructed Betty Sheppard Memorial Park highlighted the August Bellmawr Board of Education (BOE) meeting in the Bell Oaks Media Centre.
Financed through a $20,000 grant from the Camden County Open Space Preservation Trust Fund, no tax dollars were used, said Superintendent Annette Castiglione, who authored the proposal.
Mrs. Sheppard, who died in December 2008, was the 11th-longest serving BOE member in the state.
The Park, located at Bell Oaks School, will be dedicated Thursday, October 1, beginning at 6 p.m.
