TCNJ Drops 2-1 OT Heartbreaker to #10 Stevens Tech
Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey men’s soccer team surrendered a game-tying goal with nine seconds to play in regulation before dropping a 2-1 overtime decision to 10th ranked Stevens Institute of Technology. The Ducks (5-1) were awarded a penalty kick with 8:31 to play in the first overtime period and escaped Lions’ Stadium with their fifth victory of the season.
Kevin Luber (Delran, NJ/Delran) gave the Lions a 1-0 lead in the first half when he blasted a shot from 25 yards out at the 8:19 mark. It was the first goal of the season for Luber, who led TCNJ in scoring a year ago. The Lions dominated the majority of the opening period, outshooting the Ducks 9-3, but the momentum shifted as Stevens game out hungry following the intermission.
