Family loyalty keeps Catholic schools alive

The diocese believes the financial help is one reason why, as of mid-August, 87 of the 94 students who\’d been registered for the coming school year at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart are registered at other Catholic schools. In September, 57 will attend St. Teresa in Runnemede, 20 will go to St. Rose of Lima in Haddon Heights, four are starting at St. Mary in Gloucester City, four are going to Good Shepherd in Collingswood, and one each will begin at Christ the King in Haddonfield and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Berlin Borough.

But the financial aid is not the only reason, or even the most compelling one.
