CCPD Officers rescue baby left alone in car

(Camden City, NJ) – Officers Belinda Villegas-Ramos and Joseph McGrath rescued a five-month-old infant who was left unattended in a parked car Thursday morning, April 30.

Officer Villegas-Ramos was working a detail at the TD Bank on Martin Luther King Boulevard shortly before 11:30 a.m. when she was alerted to a car parked in the adjoining parking lot of the CVS. Officer Villegas-Ramos observed that an infant was alone in the back seat of the car where he was screaming loudly and sweating profusely. With no parent or guardian nearby to open the locked car, Officer Villegas-Ramos and Officer McGrath broke the front, driver’s side window to gain entry. The officers then got the baby out of the car and comforted him until EMTs arrived.
