On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at approximately 10:07 PM, 15th District Officers and emergency personnel responded to a multi-vehicle crash on the 7200 block of Torresdale Avenue that resulted in a fatality.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a red 2013 Infiniti G35 (Unit #1), operated by an 18-year-old male, was traveling northbound on Torresdale Avenue at a high rate of speed. While attempting to pass a double-parked vehicle, Unit #1 crossed into the opposing lane of travel and struck a southbound white 2014 Nissan NV3500 van (Unit #2) head-on, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Following the initial impact, Unit #1 rotated and struck a legally parked, unoccupied blue 2005 Hyundai Tucson (Unit #3) on the west side of the street.
Investigators determined that neither the driver nor the passenger of Unit #1 was wearing a seatbelt. Due to the severity of the wreckage, Philadelphia Fire Department personnel had to extricate the passenger. PFD Medics transported the 18-year-old operator of Unit #1 to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in critical condition. The passenger of Unit #1, identified as 23-year-old Darius Santoni of the 44xx block of Teesdale Street, was also transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with severe head trauma and was pronounced deceased at approximately 10:52 PM. The operator and a 32-year-old male passenger of Unit #2 were also evaluated. No arrests or charges have been filed at this time as the Crash Investigation Division continues its active investigation
