FSIS Issues Public Health Alert

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for raw boneless chicken breast products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product contains eggs, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. A recall was not requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.

The raw honey Dijon boneless chicken breast products were produced on June 2, 2026. The following product subject to the public health alert is [view labels]: 

  • 21-oz. vacuum-packed packages of “PRIVATE SELECTION Honey Dijon Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts with Rib Meat” with “BEST IF USED BY: JUN 28 2026” and lot code “15326A” printed on the packaging. 

The products bear establishment number “P-45288B” printed on the packaging. These items were shipped to Kroger and Fred Meyer retail stores in Alabama, Alaska, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon, and Washington.

The problem was discovered by a retailer after a store employee identified that the correct label was applied to the front of the product but the incorrect label, which contained the ingredients statement, was applied to the back of the product. The retailer reported the issue to the producing establishment, and the establishment notified FSIS.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a health care provider. 

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase.

The ready-to-eat chicken Caesar wrap items were produced on June 16, 2026. The following products subject to the public health alert are [view labels]: 

  • 8.7-oz. clear plastic wrapped packages of “FRESH SEASONS Kitchen Chicken Caesar Wrap” with “Sell By:6/24/2026” printed on the back label above the ingredients. 

The products bear establishment number “P- 45091” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were shipped to Holiday convenience stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS product testing when a sample confirmed positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes

There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a health care provider. 

Consumption of food contaminated with Lm can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.

Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections can occur in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics. Persons in the higher-risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food should seek medical care and tell the health care provider about eating the contaminated food.
