Philadelphia Police Incidents

Early Saturday morning, officers from the 1st District responded to a shooting on the highway at the 19xx block of Durfor Street at approximately 1:32 AM. Upon arrival, police discovered an unidentified male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Responding officers immediately transported the victim to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:47 AM. At this time no arrests have been made, and the motive remains unknown.

The investigation is ongoing with the Homicide Unit.

Shortly before that incident, at approximately 1:18 AM, 14th District officers responded to a report of a person shot on the 800 block of E. Chelten Avenue. Investigators discovered a large amount of blood and a bullet fragment on the highway. They later learned that the victim, a 40-year-old female, had already been transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center by a private vehicle. 

Preliminary findings indicate that the victim’s boyfriend, a 30-year-old male, shot her in the foot during a verbal altercation. 

The investigation into this domestic incident is ongoing.

Earlier in the night, at approximately 12:34 AM, 8th District officers were dispatched to Nazareth Hospital regarding a walk-in gunshot victim. A 16-year-old male juvenile arrived at the hospital via a private vehicle after sustaining two gunshot wounds, one to each lower leg.

 The victim stated he was inside a vehicle at an unknown location in the Mayfair section of the city when he was shot, but he did not provide further details. 

The vehicle that transported him left the premises prior to police arrival. At this time, no crime scene has been located, no arrests have been made, and the motive is unknown. 

The Shooting Investigation Group (SIG) is actively investigating the case.
