A record-breaking $1,782,962 jackpot was hit at Resorts Casino Hotel on Monday, June 8, marking the largest brick-and-mortar win in Atlantic City this year and one of the biggest jackpots in Resorts’ 48-year history.
The lucky winners, Sindy and Louis of Long Island, had just checked in and headed to the casino floor before lunch. They were down to their last $10 spin and were able to work their way back up to $670 when they struck a massive payline on high limit Wheel of Fortune Double Times Pay 3x4x5x® slots with the signature Wheel of Fortune 3x, 4x and 5x symbols landing across the reels. While they knew they had hit big,they didn’t immediately realize they had won nearly $2 million on a $10 bet.
“My wife and I are both retired, and we’re moving to Melbourne, Florida, next month to be closer to our grandkids. This win really makes the life we’ve been planning with them even more special – and maybe a few Disney trips are in our future,” Louis said with a big smile.
The Wheel of Fortune jackpot is part of an interstate wide-area progressive, a network of linked machines that grows across multiple casinos until one lucky spin hits and the amount resets.
