Rowan Finishes 18th in Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup 

Rowan University Athletics has earned an 18th-place finish in the 2025-26 Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup, which recognizes the overall excellence of athletics programs based on the school’s finishes in up to 18 sports in the NCAA Championships.

Rowan, which totaled 679.50 points, owns the distinction of being the second highest-ranked public institution in the Division III standings. It also marks the second year in a row that the Profs have finished in the nation’s top 20, after garnering a 17th-place finish in 2024-25.

Among the highlights of the 2025-26 competition season for Rowan was the men’s track and field team winning the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship. It marked the 12th all-time national title for Rowan’s athletics program, and the first since field hockey’s championship in 2002. Additionally, the men’s outdoor track & field team was the NCAA runner-up at its championship in the spring while the baseball and softball teams each earned fifth-place finishes in their respective World Series appearances.

Overall, up to 18 total sports may count towards the final Directors’ Cup standings, four of which must be men’s basketball and soccer, and women’s basketball and soccer, leaving the next 14 highest points scored to also be counted.

Washington University in St. Louis becomes just the eighth different institution to take home the Learfield Directors’ Cup, capturing first for the 2025-26 year with 1,266.50 overall points. WashU scored in 18 total sports (all 4 countable sports), including 13 teams with top 10 finishes. The Bears claimed the title in women’s soccer and added third place finishes in men’s golf and women’s tennis.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Championships. COMPLETE STANDINGS
