Gloucester Township Police Investigate a Motorcycle Crash

On Saturday August 8, 2026 at approximately 10:37am Officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to the area of the Black Horse Pike (State Highway 168) and Garden Avenue in Blackwood, NJ for the report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

Preliminary information from the callers on scene advised there were two injured parties that were ejected from the motorcycle. Upon arrival of first responders, both the motorcycle operator and passenger were found in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. They were evaluated by Virtua Paramedics and Basic Life Support Emergency Medical Technicians from Inspira then transported by ambulance to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden. They are listed in critical, but stable condition. The driver of the second vehicle involved did not suffer any injuries as a result of the crash and remained on scene to provide details to police.

Initial investigation revealed the motorcycle was stopped on Garden Avenue waiting to turn left onto Southbound Black Horse Pike. As the motorcycle began to turn it struck the front passenger side of a sedan that was traveling Northbound on the Black Horse Pike. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours while Officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT) completed their preliminary investigation. At this time it does not appear that speed or distracted driving were contributing factors in this crash, but it remains under investigation.

The names of the parties involved in this incident are being withheld pending notifications to next of kin.
