Jason L. Bailey, 48, of Paulsboro, was sentenced today to 31 1/2 years in state prison by the Honorable Benjamin D. Morgan, Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns announced.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: On Dec. 10, 2023, Bailey committed acts of sexual assault on a girl between the ages of 13 and 16. Upon his arrest for this offense, he refused to provide a mandatory DNA sample as required by law.
He was convicted in April of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree aggravated criminal sexual assault, and fourth-degree refusal to provide a DNA sample, as well as being found to be a persistent offender based on his criminal history.
He was sentenced to 30 years for the aggravated sexual assault charge, of which he must serve 85% before becoming eligible for parole. He was also sentenced to 5 years for the third-degree charge, to run concurrently with the 30-year sentence, and 18 months for refusing to submit a DNA sample, to run consecutively to his 30- year sentence.
