Neighborhoods throughout Gloucester Township are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 43rd Annual Night Out (NNO) crime/drug prevention event. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Gloucester Township Police Department and will involve communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world.
In all, over 38 million people, from over 17 thousand communities, are expected to participate in America’s Night Out Against Crime on August 4th, 2026. National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. NNO is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on August 4th, 2026, residents throughout Gloucester Township are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with their neighbors and police. Also, several Neighborhood Watch groups will be hosting a variety of special events, such as block parties, cookouts, carnivals, dessert tasting parties, and pool parties. Visiting these many special events will be: McGruff the Crime Dog along with his nephew Scruff, Police, Mayor and Council, and Inspira EMS. Public locations in Gloucester Township are Blackwood Fire Company, Erial Fire Company, and the Gloucester Premium Outlets.
Police Chief Anthony Minosse stated: “National Night Out is one of the highlights of our year as it gives our Police Officers the chance to spend time getting to know the people we serve. Building relationships with our residents in a fun and relaxed setting not only strengthens trust, but creates lasting connections, while reminding us all that we are part of the Gloucester Township community.”

The Mount Ephraim Police Department and the Mount Ephraim Celebration Committee are excited to announce the 8th annual Cops and Bobbers event on National Night Out! Please join us on TUESDAY AUGUST 4th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Haddon Lake Park. Food will be provided by Mount Ephraim Rotary, Water Ice will be provided by Cabana and bottled water will be provided by Wawa of Mount Ephraim. The Camden County Police Department will come together with residents to celebrate National Night Out, an annual community event that aims to strengthen the relationship between residents and law enforcement, boost neighborhood comradery, and ultimately make our communities safer places to live, work, and play at Farnham Park, Corner of Park Boulevard and Baird Boulevard at 6 p.m.
This year’s event will feature a touch-a-truck display of police and fire department vehicles along with music, food, games, public safety demonstrations and much more.
“National Night Out is one of our favorite opportunities to connect directly with the people we serve,” said Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to come together and create new connections with each other and with law enforcement and celebrate the strength of our community. I hope residents from across the city will join us at Farnham Park to share in the fun.”

National Night Out is an annual celebration that brings police and communities together to strengthen relationships, build trust and promote safer neighborhoods. Events will be held throughout Philadelphia, giving residents an opportunity to meet the police officers and commanders who serve their neighborhoods, get to know their neighbors and enjoy an evening of family-friendly activities.
Police Commissioner Kevin J. Bethel and members of the PPD command staff will visit National Night Out events across the city throughout the evening.
National Night Out was founded in the Philadelphia region in 1984 by Matt Peskin and has since grown into a nationwide event celebrated by thousands of communities across all 50 states. From block parties and cookouts to music, games and community-resource fairs, each neighborhood puts its own unique stamp on the celebration.
A positive, trusting relationship between police and the people we serve is essential to building safer, stronger communities. National Night Out provides an opportunity to continue strengthening those relationships – not only for one evening, but throughout the year.
