The Jews Are Back: An Evening of Survival, Rebirth, and Jewish Pride

Cherry Hill, NJ – Chabad in Cherry Hill, together with Chabad in Medford, Chabad in Florence, and Chabad in Cherry Hill West, will host a powerful and meaningful community gathering titled “The Jews Are Back: A Story of Survival & Rebirth” on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 7:30 PM at Chabad in Cherry Hill, 1925 Kresson Road, Cherry Hill.

The evening will mark 88 years since Kristallnacht, the “Night of Broken Glass,” when Jewish homes, synagogues, and businesses were violently attacked across Nazi Germany and Austria. The program will reflect on the pain of that dark chapter in Jewish history while celebrating the remarkable survival, resilience, and rebirth of Jewish life.

The community will be privileged to hear from Rabbi Yitzchok Wagner, the first German-born rabbi in Germany after the Holocaust. Rabbi Wagner, who serves as the rabbi and spiritual leader of his hometown, Krefeld, Germany, will share his personal perspective on Germany’s rebirth after the Holocaust, the ongoing challenges of confronting antisemitism, and the strength and vitality of Jewish life today.

This special evening will also serve as a tribute commemorating Gimmel Tammuz, the yahrzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, whose vision and leadership inspired a global Jewish renaissance and the rebuilding of Jewish life in communities around the world.

“The title of the evening, ‘The Jews Are Back,’ captures the spirit of Jewish resilience,” said event organizers. “Eighty-eight years after Kristallnacht, we gather not only to remember destruction, but to celebrate Jewish survival, pride, and continuity.”

The event is free and open to the entire community. Everyone is welcome to attend this inspiring evening of memory, resilience, and Jewish pride.
