The Philadelphia Police Department will host its first-ever Cops and Kids Back-to-School Gaming Event, bringing approximately 400 school-aged children together for an afternoon of gaming, entertainment and positive interactions with Philadelphia police officers.

Details: This Cops and Kids Back-to-School event reflects the department’s commitment to Philadelphia’s youth and to help participating children begin the new school year on a positive note. By bringing young people and police officers together in a safe, relaxed and entertaining setting, the department hopes to strengthen relationships, build trust and create lasting memories. Approximately 200 children from Philadelphia Police Athletic League programs and 200 children from Philadelphia Parks & Recreation summer camps are expected to attend. Activities will include video and board games, gaming tournaments, face painting, music, complimentary haircuts and cosmetology services, lunch, back-to-school supply giveaways and opportunities for children to interact with police officers in a fun and welcoming environment.
