Jefferson Washington Township Hospital recently opened a new, hybrid interventional radiology suite, creating more opportunities for patients with conditions that require complex procedures (cardiac catheterization, neurosurgical, vascular intervention) to receive high-quality, specialized care close to home. The suite is Jefferson Washington Township Hospital’s third to be approved by the New Jersey Department of Health, and its creation further strengthens Jefferson’s Bruce & Robbi Toll Heart and Vascular Institute and Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience.
Built for Growing Patient Needs
As demand for minimally invasive procedures continues to grow, the new suite gives clinical teams greater flexibility, helping to reduce wait times and accommodate more patients.
Designed for multiple specialties, the hybrid suite supports a broad range of procedures performed by experts in interventional radiology, cardiology, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery.
“Opening this new interventional radiology suite gives our teams the space, technology, and resources they need to care for increasingly complex patients while supporting continued growth,” says Elaine Joyce, Associate Chief Nursing Officer for Surgical Services at Jefferson Health – East Region.
A Team Effort Designed Around Patients
Although advanced technology is central to the new suite, the people behind it make the greatest difference.
Each procedure relies on close collaboration among physicians, nurses, technologists, anesthesia professionals, and support staff. The new suite provides another state-of-the-art environment where multidisciplinary teams can work to improve lives.
“We’re excited to begin caring for patients in this new space,” says Dianne DelCollo, Nurse Manager for Interventional Radiology at Jefferson Health – East Region. “The additional suite increases our capacity, supports greater collaboration, and helps us deliver timely, efficient care while maintaining the high standards our patients expect.”
Investing in the Future of Healthcare
The new interventional radiology suite reflects Jefferson’s continued investment in its facilities, technology, and clinical teams.
“This investment represents another important milestone for Jefferson and the communities we serve,” says Jenny Breunig, Vice President of Operations at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital. “By increasing procedural capacity today, we’re preparing for tomorrow’s healthcare needs while making it easier for patients to access specialized care without leaving South Jersey.”
