Four Star Event Catering, a locally owned catering and event services company serving Gloucester County and the greater South Jersey region, has announced its plans to officially retire and conclude business operations effective December 31, 2026.
Founded on April 1, 2017, Four Star Event Catering has spent nearly a decade helping families, businesses, and community organizations celebrate life’s special moments. The company will bring its operations to a close at the end of the year, coinciding with the conclusion of its facility lease.
For owner Susan David-Kryszczak and her husband, Fran, Four Star Event Catering has been much more than a business. Together, they have dedicated nearly 10 years to building and growing the company, creating a place where great food, hospitality, and personal service have brought people together for some of life’s most meaningful occasions.
“Four Star Event Catering has been such an important part of our lives, and I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful people and memories that have come with it,” said Susan David-Kryszczak, Owner of Four Star Event Catering. “When Fran and I started this journey back in April of 2017, we knew we wanted to build something special together. What we couldn’t have imagined was just how many wonderful people we would meet and how many incredible moments we would get to share. From the long days and late nights to the weddings, celebrations, and special occasions we’ve been fortunate enough to be part of, we wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. We didn’t just build a business; we built relationships, friendships, and memories that will stay with us forever.”
Susan continued, “To our loyal customers, dedicated employees, friends, and everyone who has supported us along the way, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You welcomed us into some of the most important moments of your lives, and that is something we have never taken for granted. While it’s bittersweet for Fran and me to close this chapter, we look back with tremendous pride and gratitude. South Jersey has been so good to our family, and we will always cherish everything we’ve built together.”
The decision to retire marks the conclusion of a meaningful chapter for the David-Kryszczak family and provides an opportunity to reflect on nearly a decade of relationships, celebrations, and experiences that have defined the business.
The company extends its heartfelt appreciation to its dedicated employees, culinary professionals, service staff, vendors, event partners, and especially the loyal customers who have supported Four Star since its founding in 2017. Their continued trust, referrals, and friendship have been instrumental to the company’s success.
Looking Ahead
As Four Star Event Catering prepares for its planned retirement, the company will be coordinating an orderly transition of its operations and facilities.
In keeping with the legacy Susan and Fran have built, the company hopes that many of the resources and assets developed over the years can continue to serve the local catering and hospitality community.
As part of this transition, select commercial catering and event equipment, the company’s established business telephone number, and other business assets and resources will be available for acquisition by interested individuals or organizations. Certain established customer and business relationships may also present opportunities for an appropriate successor, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
The company welcomes confidential inquiries from catering professionals, hospitality businesses, entrepreneurs, and other interested parties who may see value in carrying forward aspects of the operation and putting these resources to continued use.
Four Star Event Catering will officially cease operations on December 31, 2026, concluding a chapter that began on April 1, 2017, and spanned nearly 10 years of celebrations, community connections, and lasting memories.
While the doors may be closing, the impact of the business and the relationships formed along the way will remain an enduring source of pride for Susan, Fran, and their family.
