(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Jamie Fox addressed the NJ State Building & Construction Trades Council at their 111^th Annual Convention. Commissioner Fox discussed the importance of a fully funded Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) and the need for a long term funding solution.

\”In terms of the building and construction industry, the necessity of a healthy TTF is clear,\” Fox said. \”If we don’t have money we can’t build, and if we can’t build, we can’t give your employees the opportunity to work. With over $2.4 billion worth of construction on the street, the impact of a bankrupt TTF would be felt across the board.

NEWARK, NJ—A Canadian stock promoter today admitted his role in a scheme to artificially inflate the stock price of a publicly traded company through manipulative trading and other fraudulent means, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Mitchell G. Adam, 47, of Vancouver, Canada, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Jose Linares to an information charging him with conspiracy to commit securities and mail fraud. Adam was initially charged by criminal complaint and arrested on May 20, 2015 at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

Corrections Officer Timothy Davison was beaten to death by an inmate in the Telford Unit in Bowie County.

He was escorting an inmate from a dayroom to his cell when the man attacked him with a blunt object, inflicting serious injuries. Officer Davison was transported to a hospital in Texarkana where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The inmate who attacked him was serving a life sentence for robbery and aggravated assault. He also had several convictions for assaulting corrections officers. The inmate was subdued by other officers.

Officer Davison had served with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for only eight months. He is survived by his two children.
