An Indiana man’s IRS bill went viral after he posted a photograph to his Facebook page of a $2,344 fine he claimed was from the federal government for not purchasing health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

Benjamin Miller said his insurance skyrocketed after President Barack Obama’s health care law took effect so he decided to forgo enrollment, provoking the claimed hefty fine from the IRS for violating the law’s individual mandate.

The nation is about to find out – again – that our federal disaster policies are failing taxpayers and the people impacted by disaster. Assistance that flows relatively easily and doesn’t incentivize planning ahead for disasters. Too much costly response and too little relatively cheaper mitigation. A flood insurance system that fails to serve most Americans. And disaster aid that fails to \”pre-spond\” to the inevitable future disasters by rebuilding smarter and more resilient.

WOODBURY NJ October 16, 2015–William A. Garcia (DOB 11/3/79), of Clementon NJ was sentenced today (10/16) to 13 years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to two counts of sexually assaulting a child under age 13.

In sentencing Garcia, Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith said the defendant acknowledged having sexual contact with a six year old child on four occasions while he was renting a room from the girl’s mother in Williamstown between September and December 2005. The offenses were disclosed to police in March 2013, after which Garcia was arrested. He was living in Clementon at the time.

Gloria was born in Philadelphia. She lived in Gloucester City for about 10 years. Our Parish was St. Mary\’s R.C. Church in Gloucester City and Father Mark Cavagnaro was our Pastor and our dear friend. Mom loved him to pieces. I\’m sure she\’s smiling right now to know he will do her the honor of Celebrating her Memorial Mass. She lived in Swedesboro with her daughter Maria for 15 years. In between she went to visit her daughter Tina in Aruba. That was a place she really loved and looked forward to every year! She lived for 5 months with her son Andy up until her death in Mastic Beach, NY. She loved best this exact time of the year, the fall, Halloween. The most important thing to her was to spend time with family!! That was priceless to her. She was our role model and our best friend. She remains alive in all of our hearts! She will be truly be missed forever! Rest in Peace our sweet Mommy.
