Findings of Investigation Into Fatal Shooting Involving Monmouth County Swat Team Released

TRENTON – In compliance with the Attorney General’s Directive on Police-Use-of-Force Investigations, this public statement is being issued on the findings of the investigation into the fatal police shooting of Scott McAllister, age 39, on May 27, 2015 in Middletown Township.

Under the Attorney General’s Directive on Police-Use-of-Force Investigations, the incident was investigated by the Attorney General’s Shooting Response Team, made up of investigators from the Division of Criminal Justice and the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit. As a result of the investigation, Director Elie Honig of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice determined that presentation of the police-involved shooting to a grand jury was not required under the directive, because the undisputed facts showed that the use of force was justified under the law. The investigation included witness interviews, forensic analysis of the scene, an autopsy and other evidence.

Reminder for the week: Public urged to report violations of hunting and wildlife regulations

DOVER (Oct. 16, 2015) – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between Oct. 5-11 made 1,794 contacts with anglers, boaters, hunters and the general public, including 53 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks. Officers responded to 35 complaints and issued 22 citations, three of which were related to the C&D Canal Conservation Area and associated recreational trail, where there is an increased Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police presence.

The trade association for independent insurance agents, urges the public to take the time now to review fire safety tips with their families so they will be prepared in the event of a fire emergency. This also is a good time to make sure that your home is insured properly—before an incident occurs.

Insurers generally recommend that people insure their home for its full replacement cost, which means it is insured under a homeowners policy for 100 percent of the cost of repairing or rebuilding it at the time it becomes necessary. If the homeowner purchases a guaranteed replacement cost endorsement, the full amount would be received to rebuild regardless of inflation.

Magnolia Man Arrested for Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography

(October 15, 2015)–Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Magnolia Police Chief John Evans reported a borough man was arrested this morning for the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Rudolph F. Kube, 80, was charged after detectives from the High Tech Crimes Unit of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday at his Magnolia home. Detectives located several hard drives containing numerous images and videos of child pornography.
