Blackwood Man Sentenced to Three Years for Shoplifting, Drug Charges

Woodbury, NJ – David J. Arrington, 45, was sentenced Friday to three years in state prison by the Honorable William F. Ziegler for shoplifting and drug possession charges pursuant to a plea agreement.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: Arrington shoplifted $209 worth of merchandise from the Burlington Coat Factory in Deptford in July 2024, and a duffle bag containing cash, gift cards, and a tablet from a loss prevention employee at Walmart in Washington Township in July 2025. In addition, a search warrant execution at the Motel 6 in Monroe Township found Arrington in possession of methamphetamine.

Edmund A. Walens, Jr., 93, of Gloucester City

On March 6, 2026, Ed passed away at home in Gloucester City, at the age of 93. Loving and devoted husband of 61 years to the late Mary A. Walens (Gordon).

Loving father of Cheryl Hill (Ron), Edmund A. Walens III (Kim), Carole Walens (Andy) and Donna Hutchinson (late Mike). Cherished grandfather of Mindy Knight (Ryan), Andrew Myers (Renee), Steven Myers, Andrea McGuigan (Mike), Marci Hutchinson, Megan Freeman (Tim), Tyler Hill (Joy) and Keith Walens. Beloved great grandfather of Elias, Michael, Ryan, Brayden, Adalena, Julian, Juniper and Lily. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and fur babies. In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was predeceased by his 9 brothers and sisters.

Colleen S. Ziegler, 52

Colleen S. Ziegler (nee Chew), age 52, was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a truly caring presence to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

For 30 years, Colleen was the amazing wife of Adam Ziegler, building a life together rooted in love and unwavering support. She was also the best mother to her three sons, Kyle, Kory, and Drew, and she poured her heart into caring for her family every day.

Colleen is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Christy Thatcher (Mike), her brother-in-law Doug (April) Ziegler, as well as her extended family—cousins, uncles, and a large circle of nieces and nephews who absolutely adored her.

Police: Three Adults Dead, Three Children Found Unharmed on Fairwood Drive

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ (March 10, 2026)(CNBNews) — Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that at approximately 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, Berkeley Township police officers responded to a residence on Fairwood Drive after receiving reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male entering the home and heard additional gunfire coming from inside. The Ocean County Regional SWAT Team made entry a short time later. Inside the residence, officers located Allan Russell, 61, and Michelle Russell, 60, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Three minor children were also found inside the home unharmed.

Walter P. Houser, II, 60, of Gloucester City

Surrounded by his loving family and friends, Walt passed away peacefully on March 7th, 2026, at the age of 60, at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Lifelong resident of Gloucester City.

Walt is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Handy) Houser; sons, Robert Revero and his wife, Amanda and Kevin Revero and his wife, Jessica; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Robert Houser, Jr. and Neal “Shorty” Houser. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Rita Houser and his sisters, Rita Gerber (late John) and Jackie Stinsman. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and beloved friends who were family to Walt.
