First Responders to Host Blood Drives for 51st Annual National EMS Week

New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) is teaming up with first responders and medical professionals to host a series of blood drives across the region for National EMS Week from May 17th to May 23rd. The blood drives will honor the lifesaving work of EMS professionals while helping to boost the blood supply during one of the most critical times of the year.

Dover Motor Speedway Prepares for NASCAR All-Star Weekend

 NASCAR’s annual All-Star Race comes to Dover Motor Speedway this weekend for the first time at the World’s Fastest One-Mile Oval and the first time in the Northeast, bringing a $1 million prize along with several competition-focused changes to The Monster Mile.

In preparation for the NASCAR Cup Series’ return to Dover, NASCAR and track officials have been working to widen the racing groove and increase grip around the concrete oval.

Where:              Mount Pleasant School House, Bellevue State Park, 800 Carr Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19809 

Why:                    The Mount Pleasant School House at Bellevue State Park was one of the first public schools built under the Free School Act of 1829, which divided each county into many school districts and provided funding to build a school house. The one-room school house was used from 1830 to 1864 to teach children of all ages from the local farming community reading, writing, arithmetic and English grammar, led by a single teacher. The school house was restored by Delaware State Parks in partnership with  the Friends of Bellevue State Park to serve as an interpretative center for the public to experience the rich history of Bellevue and its community.

Legendary FOX Sports broadcaster Mike Joy will add another milestone to his celebrated motorsports career this weekend at Dover Motor Speedway, serving as the honorary starter by waving the green flag for Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race at The Monster Mile.

The moment carries special meaning for Joy, who grew up in the Northeast and has spent decades calling races at many of the region’s most historic tracks. Despite more than five decades in motorsports broadcasting, Joy has never before served as the honorary starter for a NASCAR Cup Series race.

Burlington County Annual Fallen Officers Memorial Service

Please join the Burlington County Police Chiefs Association as they host the Annual Fallen Officers Memorial Service for law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in Burlington County.

This annual tribute will once again be held at the Emergency Services Training Center, 53 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The Memorial Service brings our law enforcement community together for a day of solemn remembrance. Lt. Colonel David Sierotowicz, Deputy Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, will be our keynote speaker. Burlington County Chief of Detectives Anthony Luyber, as well as Bordentown City Chief of Police Shaun Lafferty, will also speak on behalf of the entire law enforcement community.

More than 200 supporters gathered on May 6, 2026, for The Cooper Foundation’s 6th Annual Cooper Cup Golf Outing at Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, New Jersey for a day of camaraderie, competition, and purpose.

The sold-out event brought together corporate partners, community leaders, and longtime supporters around a shared goal: advancing care for communities across South Jersey through Cooper University Health Care. Together, participants helped raise $250,000 to support programs that touch every part of the patient experience—from critical care and research to the teams who deliver care every day.
