Gloucester Township Police Arrest Identity Theft Suspect in Fraud Attempt at Fulton Bank 

On February 26, 2026 at approximately 12:52pm, Gloucester Township Police Officers were dispatched to Fulton Bank located at 1400 Blackwood Clementon Road on report of a fraud in progress. 

Upon arrival bank employees alerted officers to a male attempting to execute a suspicious transaction.  The male was detained and was in possession of a fraudulent driver’s license.  The investigation revealed the male was impersonating a bank customer, and was attempting to complete a wire transfer in the amount of $87,500 out of the victim’s account.  The male was positively identified by officers as David L. Hutton from Houston, TX.  The victim’s account did not suffer any monetary loss due to the quick actions by bank employees and officers.

Hutton was placed under arrest and transported to Gloucester Township Police Headquarters for processing.  He was charged on a criminal warrant and remanded to Camden County Correctional Facility.

Arrested:  David L. Hutton, Age 64, Houston, TX was charged with Exhibiting False Documents (3rd Degree), Forgery (3rd Degree), Assuming False Identity (2nd Degree), Attempted Theft by Deception (2nd Degree).

This incident represents the importance of a strong partnership between the police and community, highlighting the role the residents play in keeping the community safe. Prompt reporting of suspicious activity and potential criminal conduct allows officers to respond quickly and effectively to address community concerns. The teamwork between Officers, Detectives, and community members directly contributed to this arrest.

The Gloucester Township Police reminds all residents that identity theft can happen quickly and without immediate signs.  To protect yourself residents can regularly monitor bank and credit statements, never share personal or financial information with unknown individuals, shred sensitive documents, and be cautious of unsolicited calls, emails, or text messages requesting personal information.

REMOVE ALL PARKED VEHICLES and/ or TRAILERS from the roadways (if possible) so GT Public Works can plow our streets.

 Stay off the roadways during and shortly after the snow stops to allow plow and salt trucks to clear the roadways 

✅

 If you must drive to work, give yourself extra time to travel safely. Completely clear off ALL the snow from your vehicle, including the roof.

✅

 If you live near a fire hydrant, please remove the snow from the front, back and sides of it to allow the fire department to quickly locate them.

GTPD Arrests Youth in Vehicle Burglary Attempt

On Saturday, February 14, 2026 at approximately 12:33 AM, Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD) were dispatched to the area of Whitall Drive in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township for the report of a someone attempting to burglarize the caller’s vehicle.  As officers responded to the area, it was reported the person had fled the area and a description was obtained. An alert motorist flagged down an officer and reported that a person fitting the description was now observed running into the nearby Terrestria Development. Officers quickly located the person, later identified as a 16-year-old juvenile, fleeing on foot while ignoring numerous officer commands to stop. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody by officers and was found to be in possession of burglar tools. The suspect was transported to the GTPD Headquarters and was charged on a Juvenile Complaint and released pending court with the following charges:  Criminal Attempt Burglary – 3rd Degree Crime, Resisting Arrest by Flight – 4th Degree Crime, Possession of Burglar Tools – a Disorderly Persons Offense and Criminal Mischief – a Disorderly Persons Offense. 

Due to proactive operations across Gloucester Township, this allowed officers to flood the area of the crime almost immediately, thus assisting with the successful apprehension of the suspect.  One officer sustained a minor injury during the foot pursuit.  Chief Anthony Minosse said, “this case is a clear example on the importance of a strong partnership between the GTPD and our residents working together to help keep our community safe.” The prompt reporting of suspicious activity and potential criminal conduct allows police officers to respond quickly to address community concerns.  The GTPD urges residents to remain alert to unusual behavior, LOCK YOUR VEHICLES, remove key fobs, and pick up your phone to immediately report any suspicious activity.

FCA Issues “Do Not Drive” Warning for All Vehicles with Unrepaired Takata Airbag Recalls

FCA US has issued a “do not drive” warning for all remaining Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles with open and unrepaired Takata air bag recalls. If you have one of these vehicles, do not drive it until the repair is completed and the defective air bag is replaced. Recalls are free at the manufacturer’s dealership.
