Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo, Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle and Camden County Sheriff Chuck Billingham reported a bank robbery suspect has been apprehended.

Timothy J. Givens, 37, of Sicklerville, is accused of robbing the PNC Bank located at 900 Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township on Saturday morning. It is alleged he passed a demand note to a teller, received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.

Authorities received several tips that helped identify Givens as the suspect after releasing surveillance photos of the robber.

Two Camden County Sheriff’s Department officers observed Givens walking near Cooper University Hospital in Camden on Sunday afternoon and approached him. The suspect attempted to flee, but was apprehended after a short foot chase.

Givens is charged with robbery and resisting arrest by flight. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail in lieu of bail.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Right before lawmakers in the House of Representatives headed home for Memorial Day they passed legislation to keep cash flowing to transportation projects, at least until the Highway Trust Fund goes bust at the end of the July. Since Senators are eyeing the exits as well, this will likely become law before the current authorization expires at the end of May.

 Last year, New Jersey suffered the deaths of six people in four accidents during the holiday weekend.

Three of those four accidents involved alcohol and/or drugs.
