CNB Hunting/Fishing New Jersey: Fall 2015 Trout Stocking Schedule

During the 2015 fall trout stocking season the Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock more than 20,000 trout in the state\’s major trout waters. The fish will be stocked from the Pequest Trout Hatchery from October 13-21. 

This year will see a return to the stocking of larger fish measuring approximately 14\” up to 22\” in length and weighing one-and-a-half pounds to almost eight pounds. These Rainbow Trout will be stocked in 16 streams and 15 ponds over the two-week period.

SOUTH JERSEY AREA TRAFFIC ALERT: I-295 ramp to Route 42 to be closed tonight in Bellmawr

\"6a00d8341bf7d953ef0191044ed016970c-800wi\"(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the ramp from I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound will be closed overnight tonight Friday, October 16 as the Direct Connection project advances in Camden and Gloucester counties. 

Beginning at 9:00 p.m. tonight, NJDOT’s contractor, Conti Enterprises, will close the ramp from I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Saturday, October 17 to permit the installation of test piles.

The following detour will be in effect for those trying to access Route 42 southbound from I-295 southbound:

Continue on I-295 southbound to I-76 westbound. Take the Market Street Exit and make a left onto Market Street. Take exit to I-76 eastbound, proceed on I-76 to eastbound to Route 42 southbound.

Variable message signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with Direct Connection. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming lane closures or traffic shifts.

Pheasant hunting in Pennsylvania kicked off Saturday with the weeklong season for junior hunters, followed by the statewide opening day for pheasants Oct. 24.
 
With the season nearly here, hunters are advised that some of the pheasants they find in the field might have leg bands. And by reporting those birds, hunters can provide important information as part of a study into pheasant harvest rates.

Obituary | Frank J. Martino, Jr. of Mt. Ephraim

Frank J. Martino Jr., \”Buff\”, on October 14, 2015, of Glendora; formerly of Mt. Ephraim. Age 67.

Devoted father of Rita and Nicole Martino. Loving grandfather of Alicia Salvador (Marco). Beloved brother of Frieda Sharp. Dear uncle of Denise Hegedus (Patrick) and great uncle of Sydney Hegedus. Also survived by his loving cat, Buddy.

Buff was the owner of Frankie’s Casa Di Oro in Bellmawr.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 7:30pm Tuesday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, BELLMAWR.

Memorial Service 7:30pm at the funeral home.

Interment private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Breakwater Issued Final Permit to Operate as an Alternative Treatment Center in Central Region,

Fifth Statewide to Dispense Medicinal Marijuana

  

The New Jersey Department of Health has issued a final permit to Breakwater Treatment & Wellness in Cranbury, Middlesex County to operate as an Alternative Treatment Center (ATC). The permit was issued after a final Department inspection of its facility.

Breakwater Treatment & Wellness will be the second ATC to operate in the central region and the fifth to operate in the state. The Medicinal Marijuana Program (MMP) currently has four ATCs dispensing: Greenleaf Compassion Center of Montclair, Compassionate Care Foundation of Egg Harbor, Garden State Dispensary of Woodbridge and Compassionate Sciences of Bellmawr in Camden County.

Price of Solar Energy in the United States Has Fallen to 5¢/kWh on Average

Newswise — Solar energy pricing is at an all-time low, according to a new report released by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab). Driven by lower installed costs, improved project performance, and a race to build projects ahead of a reduction in a key federal incentive, utility-scale solar project developers have been negotiating power sales agreements with utilities at prices averaging just 5¢/kWh. These prices reflect receipt of the 30% federal investment tax credit, which is scheduled to decline to 10% after 2016, and would be higher if not for that incentive. By comparison, average wholesale electricity prices across the United States ranged from 3 to 6 cents/kWh in 2014, depending on the region.
