Cargo Theft Investigation

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at approximately 4:12 a.m., a cargo theft was reported at 52XX Devereaux Avenue. Preliminary information indicates that unknown offenders cut the rear padlock of a trailer and removed five pallets of beef valued at approximately $10,000. The driver, who was sleeping inside the truck’s cab, awoke at approximately 4:00 a.m. and observed individuals at the location. The driver captured cellphone video of the offenders’ vehicles, described as a dark gray Nissan sedan and two dark-colored SUVs. The investigation remains ongoing with Northeast Detectives.

NJ Landmarks to Light the World in Teal for Alzheimer’s Awareness

Hard Rock Atlantic City, New Jersey State House, and Ben Franklin Bridge Among New Jersey Sites Participating in Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s Light the World in Teal Program.

(October 28, 2026) — Some of New Jersey’s most well-known landmarks, including the Hard Rock Atlantic City, New Jersey State House, and Ben Franklin Bridge, will shine teal on November 2 as part of Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) annual Light the World in Teal Alzheimer’s awareness campaign. They will join more than 1,750 sites worldwide in raising awareness and showing support for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s in what is believed to be the world’s largest-ever organized collective light-up for a single cause. Teal is AFA’s Alzheimer’s awareness color.

Mantua Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Minor

Woodbury, NJ – Michael Brown, 46, of Mantua, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison today by the Honorable Michael Silvanio for aggravated sexual assault of a minor, pursuant to a plea agreement, Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns announced.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: Brown admitted to having intercourse with a victim between the ages of 13 and 16 on multiple occasions at his Mantua home. He stated that he had supervisory power over the victim at the time of these assaults, as the victim was staying overnight at the home and that it was his legal duty to take care of them.

Brown pled guilty in June to one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a minor. He was sentenced today to 10 years in state prison, of which he must serve 85% before becoming eligible for parole. Upon release he will be subject to lifetime parole supervision, must register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, must have no contact with the victim, and will be barred from any involvement in youth sports.

Free Microtransit Service for Seniors, Disabled Residents

The Camden County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with NJ TRANSIT, Senior Citizens United Community Services (SCUCS) and Gloucester County, will introduce a free transportation service for seniors and people with disabilities in Camden and Gloucester counties.

The CG Hopper, an on-demand shared-ride service operated by Via, will provide convenient, accessible transportation throughout the designated service area. The service will also connect riders to NJ TRANSIT services, expanding access to the broader transit network and providing more transportation options.

While most costumed Halloween characters tend to be spooky, Jefferson Washington Township Hospital’s tiniest patients are proving that there are no tricks, only treats, in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Staff dressed the babies in adorable Halloween-themed outfits and presented commemorative keepsakes to their families.

This annual tradition provides parents and caregivers a welcome moment of joy, normalcy and celebration during a stressful and challenging time. It reflects the compassion and support NICU teams provide while creating cherished memories that last long after the infants go home.

Atco Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Voorhees

An Atco man has been arrested and charged in reference to a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in Voorhees last weekend, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Voorhees Police Chief April Herrington.

Aaron K. Tart Jr., 24, is charged with 2nd -degree Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Death, 3rd -degree Endangering an Injured Victim, and 4th -degree Tampering with Evidence.

On October 24, 2026, at approximately 1:17 a.m., officers from the Voorhees Police Department responded to the area of the 100 block of North Route 73 for a motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist. Upon arrival, officers located a bicyclist lying unresponsive in the roadway. The victim – later identified as 71-year-old Maksudur Rahman of Berlin Township – was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Sunsets and Sunrises: Sunsets and sunrises will occur about one hour earlier by the clock, giving you brighter mornings and darker, earlier evenings.
Automatic Devices: Smartphones, computers, and internet-connected devices update automatically, while manual clocks (like car dashboards, ovens, and older wall clocks) must be changed by hand.
Who Skips It: Hawaii, most of Arizona (except the Navajo Nation), and U.S. territories including Puerto Rico and Guam do not observe daylight saving time and do not change their clocks.

Coleman Secures $715,000 in Federal Funding

Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) announced $715,000 in federal funding for the Delaware River Basin Commission’s (DRBC) work protecting water resources across the Delaware River Basin.

The Congresswoman was joined by DRBC Executive Director Kristen Bowman Kavanagh, DRBC Director of External Affairs Beth Brown, New Jersey State Geologist Steve Domber, Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann, local officials, and community partners.

The funding will fulfill the federal government’s signatory funding share for the DRBC, supporting its scientific research, water quality monitoring, engineering, and regulatory programs. The Commission’s work helps maintain safe water supplies while preparing communities for the effects of climate change, including flooding and drought.
