Philly Burglary Suspect Arrested, Charged with Shooting

PHILADELPHIA PA–On Thursday, October 22, 2015, at approximately 9:57 AM, while on patrol in the area of Wister and\"\" Anderson Streets, bike officers heard two gunshots. The officers proceeded to the area of the gunshots and observed a gray vehicle make a u-turn and continue east on Medary Street. The officers were then flagged down by pedestrians in reference to a shooting victim. One of the bike officers located the complainant; a 33 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest, while his partner followed the vehicle and provided flash information to police radio. The officer followed the vehicle eastbound on Medary Street to 21st Street, then proceeded north on 21st Street, where the officer lost sight of the vehicle.

San Juan, Puerto Rico Agrees to Make Investments in Clean Water

PRESS RELEASE

(New York, N.Y. – October 26, 2015) Under a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Municipality of San Juan has agreed to make substantial upgrades to its storm sewer systems throughout the city. The upgrades and related cleaning activities are aimed at eliminating or minimizing daily discharges of large volumes of untreated sewage from the Municipality’s storm sewers, and minimizing discharges of other pollutants into nearby water bodies, including the San Juan Bay Estuary, the Atlantic Ocean and the Martin Peña Canal. The estimated cost of the upgrades and actions over the life of the agreement is $180 million.

What does a priest do on Monday through Friday? Do they sleep in the church? Are they ever allowed to be out of uniform?

Back in June, I began my pastoral year at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Gibbsboro. A pastoral year has been described as a \”year of internship.\” While I’ve had many of these questions answered for me already, seeing the day to day life of a priest first hand has helped me to have a more in-depth answer to some of these questions.
