HOME COUNTRY: I always wondered what it would be like to putter.

I always wondered what it would be like to putter. I don’t mean golf. I haven’t done that kind of puttering since I played miniature golf in high school. That wagon wheel always messed me up, so I decided to leave my golf career right there and participate in more active pursuits.

But now here I am puttering. This came about naturally because my doctor told me to slow down, and I plan to enjoy every snail-like minute of this advice. Part of it is my age (I’m in double figures now. And they ain’t small double figures.) and part is my doctor giving me advice I’ve been wanting to hear for a long time now.

Jillian L. Davison, 60, of South Carolina

Jillian L. Davison (nee Kupsey) age 60 years of Clinton, South Carolina died Friday, August 7, 2026. Born on February 16, 1966, and raised in Logan Township New Jersey, she graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1984. Jillian was a passionate, registered nurse for over 30 years. Jillian enjoyed spending time with her dog Grizzly, anything Nascar, caring for her goats, the perfect Jersey tomato and beach days at the Jersey shore. She cherished her time in Butte, Montana.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jade McKinney (Ben) of Gloucester City and Chyna Davison (Edward) of Roxborough, PA, her grandchildren, Jonathan, Jack, Natalie and William, her partner Doug Van Duyne, her father, Stanley Kupsey, Sr and brother Stanley Kupsey (Colleen) and large extended family. Predeceased by her brother Jack Kupsey.

Study Finds Traditional Prostate Cancer Risk Factors Do Not Predict Hormone Therapy Benefit

Newswise — A new study led by investigators at the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center found that while traditional pathological features used to classify aggressive prostate cancer —such as high-grade disease, cancer extending outside the prostate and cancer involving the seminal vesicles— after surgery can help identify patients who are more likely to have worse outcomes, they do not predict who will benefit more from adding hormone therapy to postoperative radiation.

The findings, published in European Urology, were led by Dr. Amar Kishan, professor and executive vice chair of radiation oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and highlight the need for molecular biomarkers that can better predict treatment response and personalize treatment based on tumor biology.

Triple Shooting/Homicide

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at approximately 4:49 p.m., a triple shooting occurred on the highway on the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue in the 22nd District. Three victims were transported by police to Temple University Hospital. One victim was listed in stable condition, a second victim was listed in critical condition, and a third victim was pronounced deceased at approximately 5:15 p.m.
