Annual Save the Monarch Event

Tonight at 6:30 p.m. at McLaughlin-Norcross Memorial Dell, Haddon Lake Park, Haddon Heights, the Board of Commissioners and Camden County Certified Gardeners will come together for their annual Save the Monarch event, aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action to protect the monarch butterfly and its declining population. The event will feature the release of more than 400 adult monarch butterflies, and attendees will also have the opportunity to take home a milkweed plant of their own.

Woman Arrested After Fatal Car Crash in Lindenwold

A Pine Hill woman was arrested and charged following a fatal collision involving an e-bike on Saturday night, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Lindenwold Police Chief Michael McCarthy. On Saturday, August 15, 2026, at approximately 10:24 p.m., officers from the Lindenwold Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of Laurel Road for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a motor vehicle had fatally struck a person riding an e-bike. The operator of the e-bike, identified as Erica Beeks, 46, of Lindenwold, was pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 10:42 p.m.

Officers arrested the driver, identified as 65-year-old Deborah Carey, at the scene. Carey was charged with one count of 2nd -degree Death by Auto and issued multiple summons for traffic-related offenses, including driving under the influence. She was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility. The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Samuel Funches III of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Response Investigation Team at (856) 225-8083 and Detective Ryan Brennan of the Lindenwold Police Department at (856) 784-7566. Tips can also be sent to CAMDEN.TIPS. All individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Coast Guard, California Agencies Rescue 53-year-old Man

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard and local partner agencies rescued a 53-year-old man approximately 3 miles south of the Seal Beach Pier Monday morning after an extensive search effort that lasted more than 12 hours.

A Coast Guard Air Station San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew located Paul Anthony Carbullido Jr. alive at approximately 10:48 a.m., while conducting a search pattern south of Seal Beach. The aircrew spotted Carbullido floating on his back while wearing a green life jacket. After recognizing the helicopter overhead, Carbullido raised his head and waved to the aircrew.

Wanted: Suspect for Assault in the 9th District

The Philadelphia Police Department- Central Detective Division is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual depicted in the following video and stills.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at approximately 5:30AM, the victim, a 40 year-old female, was chased by a masked offender in the area of 1500 JFK Blvd. The offender made threatening comments as they approached causing the complainant to stumble and sustain injury. The offender fled in to SEPTA Suburban Station after the incident.

Milwaukee State Fair Brawl

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – The Wisconsin State Fair ended in chaos with fighting, punching and beating people up. The State Fair said one officer was hit but did not have serious injuries. In total, a statement said police arrested seven people.

What we know:

The Wisconsin State Fair put out a statement 18 hours after the violence erupted. It said police responded to the fights and unauthorized people trying to get into the fair. The fair added that despite initial claims, there were no gunshots. It said officers responded quickly to the fights and the Fair will continue to review security plans.

Suspect Wanted For Murder of Off-Duty Philly Police Officer – $20,000 Reward

The Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male depicted in the above photographs in connection with the murder of an off-duty Philadelphia Police Officer.

The male is described as approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin to medium build, dark complexion, and medium to bushy cropped hair. He is believed to be in his mid-to-late 20s and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, a light blue surgical mask, and black sneaker-style boots. He also had a long key chain hanging from the back of his pants and was wearing a large wristwatch.

NJ, Feds Sue Commission to Protect Drinking Water From Contamination

The state and the feds have teamed up to compel a North Jersey water system to cover three reservoirs that provide drinking water to nearly a million people.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office accuse the Passaic Valley Water Commission in a new federal lawsuit of violating the Safe Drinking Water Act by failing to properly protect and treat water from the Great Notch Reservoir, Levine Reservoir, and New Street Reservoir to ensure it’s free of pathogens and safe to consume.

The public water system serves about 800,000 people in Paterson, Clifton, Passaic, Prospect Park, Lodi, North Arlington, and Woodland Park, and 22 wholesale customers (municipalities and independent water companies) in Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Morris counties.

Man Faces Felony Arson Charges

A man is facing felony charges following a July fire investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

The accused is identified as Chad Edward Care, 43, of Hedgesville, West Virginia. Care is facing first- and second-degree arson charges and two counts of first-degree malicious burning. All are felonies.

Deputy State Fire Marshals assigned to the Western Region Office served a criminal summons on Care this morning at Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County.

On July 30, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Deputy State Fire Marshals and accelerant-detection K-9 Quinn responded to investigate a fire reported near the 0 block of Dobbin Road in Oakland, Maryland.

Investigators determined the fire was set intentionally by one of the property owners following a family dispute. A greenhouse and two camper trailers were destroyed in the fire, with an estimated loss of $40,000.

The Gorman Fire Department responded to extinguish flames. Garrett County, Maryland Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation. No injuries were reported.
