America’s AI Boom Has a Blue-Collar Challenge

America’s artificial intelligence future may depend as much on electricians, welders, and construction workers as it does on software engineers.

Technology companies are investing at a remarkable pace in the infrastructure needed to power AI. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet are expected to spend about $700 billion just this year. That figure doesn’t include the additional investments required for semiconductor manufacturing and electric grid renovation.

But there’s a major obstacle: America doesn’t have enough skilled workers to build everything the AI economy will require.

Washington Township Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Gun Charge 

Woodbury, NJ – Raymond Tines, 42, of Washington Township, was sentenced to 5  years in state prison on Aug. 31, 2026 by the Honorable Renard L. Scott for  unlawful possession of a weapon and cruelty to a child pursuant to a plea  agreement. 

According to documents filed in these cases and statements made in open court: In April 2021, a Washington Township resident reported Tines, who was a  neighbor, had attempted to enter their home with a handgun and was observed  standing out front of the house with a handgun. Tines was arrested later that day  at his residence, where police found a handgun and a firearms identification card.  Tines did not have a permit to carry a handgun in public.

Flash Flood Emergencies Across NJ and Connecticut

Roads turned into rivers as heavy rain unleashed flash flooding on September 13 across New Jersey and Connecticut, prompting water rescues and almost wiping out a half-marathon.

Announcement From NJ American Water

New Jersey American Water customers will begin seeing new water and wastewater rates following the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ (BPU) approval of the company’s rate request. As part of the BPU’s approval of the company’s PFAS Litigation Universal Surcredit (PLUS), eligible water customers will also receive a separate $9.88 monthly PFAS settlement credit for 12 months, helping offset bill impacts as the new rates take effect. The approved rates support continued investment in safe, clean and reliable water and wastewater service across New Jersey.

USPS Receives 1000s of November Ballots From Camden County Clerk

The Camden County Clerk’s Office will be delivering tens of thousands of mail-in ballots to the Bellmawr Post Office to be delivered to registered voters throughout the area. All ballots for Camden County voters who are enrolled in Vote by Mail will be in the mail and hitting homes after September 20.

Philadelphia, PA – South Philadelphia will be a sea of red, white and green as a beloved tradition with roots back to the early 1900s returns to South Philadelphia. The Annual St. Nicholas of Tolentine Authentic Italian Festival will bring out thousands of people on Sunday, October 4th, to the 1700 Block of South 9th Street, from 12 Noon to 8:00pm. One of the largest authentic Italian festivals of the year is back and starts with the annual religious procession throughout the neighborhood with a long line of the Statues of Saints and their faithful following.
