
Woodbury, NJ – Valeed Anjum, 27, of Bensalem, Pa, was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and third degree endangering the welfare of a child, Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns announced.
According to documents filed in this case:
On July 29 West Deptford Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in National Park and made contact with Anjum and a 12-year-old girl inside the vehicle. The juvenile was safely returned home.
During an investigation, detectives learned that Anjum had communicated with the minor victim through Snapchat and a review of those communications revealed evidence of sexual contact between Anjum and the juvenile, as well as images depicting child sexual abuse involving additional victims.
The investigation further determined that Anjum had previously engaged in sexual contact with the victim in the West Deptford/National Park area. The juvenile reported that Anjum forced them to perform a sex act and touched them under their clothing.
On Oct. 1, Bensalem, Pa. Police executed arrest and search warrants at Anjum’s residence. Anjum was arrested and admitted to the sexual act involving the victim.

He is lodged in the Bucks County Correctional Facility pending extradition to New Jersey.
The maximum term of incarceration is life in state prison for the first-degree charge, 10 years for the second-degree charge, and 5 years for the third-degree charge.
Prosecutor Johns thanked the GCPO Special Victims Unit, the West Deptford Police Department, and the Bensalem Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
The charges contained in the complaint/indictment are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
