Juvenile Charged for Fatal Stabbing in Camden

A juvenile has been arrested and charged in reference to a fatal stabbing earlier this month in Camden, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

A 15-year-old male from Trenton is charged with first-degree Murder, third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

On August 1, 2026, at approximately 2:53 a.m., officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to Cooper University Hospital in reference to a stabbing victim who had walked to the hospital and collapsed outside of the parking garage.  The victim, who was identified as 28-year-old Davinne Evans of Camden, was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:49 a.m.Officers subsequently located a crime scene in the area of Broadway and Stevens Street.

During the investigation, detectives determined the juvenile was responsible for fatally stabbing Evans.  The juvenile was arrested and charged on August 22, 2026.
